Seven killed in Israeli strikes in Gaza (Civil Defense and hospitals)

Seven Palestinians were killed Tuesday in Israeli strikes on the Gaza Strip, according to local civil defense and hospitals.

Two men were killed in Israeli strikes targeting a cemetery in the town of Zawayda and the Wadi Gaza area in the central Gaza Strip, according to Civil Defense spokesman Mahmoud Bassal and Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital.

An Israeli strike in the Jabalia area of northern Gaza killed another person, according to Bassal and Al-Shifa Hospital, which also reported receiving the body of another man killed in a strike in the Zeitoun neighborhood in southeastern Gaza City.

A man and his wife were killed and several others were wounded in another strike that targeted an apartment in a residential building near Al-Shifa Hospital in the Rimal neighborhood of western Gaza City.

Nasser Hospital reported receiving the body of a teenager killed by Israeli fire south of Khan Younis in the southern Gaza Strip.

The Israeli military, responding to an AFP inquiry, said it was investigating the information.

It added that a strike in the Jabalia area on Monday "neutralized a Hamas terrorist involved in the kidnapping of Shani Luk during the October 7 massacre."

Images of the body of Israeli Shani Luk, lying nearly naked in the back of a pickup truck surrounded by Hamas militants, circulated worldwide. Her remains were returned to Israel in May 2024.

Hamas's unprecedented attack on Israel killed 1,221 people, according to an AFP tally based on official Israeli figures. The militants also took 251 hostages to Gaza, 44 of whom have since died.

Israel responded with a large-scale military campaign in Gaza, causing widespread destruction and killing at least 74,400 people, according to the Hamas-run health ministry in the Gaza Strip, whose figures are considered reliable by the United Nations.

Although Israel has scaled back its military operations, its strikes on Gaza continue on a near-daily basis. Since October 10, 2025, these strikes have killed at least 1,500 people, according to the Gaza Health Ministry.
