The Central Committee of China's ruling Communist Party will hold its annual meeting from October 26 to 29, with the party's top leaders in attendance, state media reported Monday.
The dates were set Monday during a meeting of the 21-member Politburo, chaired by President Xi Jinping, who is also the party's general secretary, according to the official Xinhua news agency.
The Central Committee, comprised of some 200 members, holds its plenary sessions almost annually. These meetings typically reaffirm the party's main policy objectives.
The October meeting will be the fifth such meeting held by the committee since the start of its current term in 2022, following the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party.
It is also likely to be one of the committee's last meetings before the next congress, scheduled for the fall of 2027, where Xi is expected to secure a fourth presidential term.
The previous meeting in October 2025 focused on the economy and China’s 15th Five-Year Development Plan.
