OpenAI, the developer of ChatGPT, announced it is collaborating with Anthropic, the creator of the Cloud model, and Google, the developer of Gemini, to establish an AI risk oversight authority, amid growing calls to curb its development.
OpenAI stated that it is working with the two companies at the suggestion of a Google executive to create a regulatory body modeled on the US Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA), which oversees financial intermediaries and investment firms.
