FIFA announced that it received more than 1.5 million ticket applications for the 2026 World Cup pre-sale using Visa cards within the first 24 hours of the registration period.
In a statement published Thursday evening, the federation explained that registrations, which began on September 10 on FIFA.com/tickets, came from fans from 210 countries. The host countries—the United States, Mexico, and Canada—received the highest number of applications, followed by Argentina, Colombia, Brazil, England, Spain, Portugal, and Germany.
“This impressive number of applications reflects the global excitement surrounding the 2026 World Cup and indicates that the tournament will be a turning point in football history,” said Hemo Chergui, FIFA World Cup 2026 Chief Operating Officer.
The Visa pre-sale, open to Visa cardholders, is the first official step in the World Cup ticket sales process. Registration will remain open until 19 September at 11:00 AM (EST) / 15:00 (GMT) via the official portal (FIFA.com/tickets).
Group-stage tickets start at USD 60, and all 104 match tickets will be available for sale, including individual tickets, team tickets, and stadium tickets.
